We just got a new blanket of snow yesterday and, of course, the first thing we did was get out there and make a snowman!
Kieren, our 3 year old girl (in the blue snowsuit) has been fascinated! After the full Christmas season singing along to Frosty the Snowman, reading the book, and even seeing a cartoon about it, she was absolutely SURE that our snowman (conveniently named Frosty - how original!) was going to start walking and talking! She got up this morning and went straight to the window to see if he was there. I had to lock the door just to keep her from running out barefoot in the snow, nightgown and all, to go give him a good morning hug!
The kids were out again this afternoon making snow angels, having snowball fights, and taking turns pulling each other on the sled like it was a wagon rolling behind them. I left the three big ones in the backyard to keep playing while I brought the baby in for her afternoon nap. I promised them some hot tea and warmed (but raw!!) apple crisp when they were ready to come inside.

After putting the baby down, I checked on them through my kitchen windows while preparing the tea and setting the table. I guess Kieren couldn't wait on our snack, because there she was, munching on the carrot of our now NOSELESS snowman!! :)
I just barely got the snapshot from the window before Erik came running over practically in tears yelling, "No, don't eat Frosty's nose!!" I saved the day with a new carrot nose (we always have lots of carrots in the fridge!) and told Erik, "See, Frosty doesn't mind...He's still smiling!"
I am still laughing...Is there such a thing as liking your raw veggies too much? :)
